tour we just completed, we thought it one of the best we have taken, anywhere
in the world. The prep work done by you
and your staff certainly paid off. The
national guide, she was a real special lady. Smart, would be understatement. Very organized and obviously dedicated to her job of playing nursemaid
to a group of noisy Americans. The local
guide in Xian was another standout. Everybody absolutely loved him. He was equally good. Other local
guide on the boat was another of the stars. …… If you ever need a
recommendation just give them my number. I am including below a copy of the travel letter we put out after each

exceptional experience throughout our recent 18 day China Tour.
Our National guide was superb, professional, knowledgeable, considerate
and personable. The itinerary was excellent, the aircraft and trains were
clean, new and well maintained, and service was excellent. The Yangtze cruise
ship provided us with excellent food and on board information and
entertainment. As you are aware,
several members of our group had to be hospitalized due to pre-existing
conditions. Tony got immediate assistance for them and they reported
that the medical facilities were proper and professional. We have traveled regularly twice a year for

been meaning to let you know that I really enjoyed the Shangri-la and
Tibet
tour I took earlier this
summer. Although it wasn’t my 1st choice of tours, I am very happy that I visited the
Yunnan
province. I enjoyed seeing the markets and witnessing
the minority people’s costumes. It was
very different from my previous visit to
China
and I’m glad that I went now,
before it is to overrun with Western tourists. I would like to have visited more of
Tibet
, which was my choice for a vacation
this year, but I hope to return someday to explore it more in depth. Overall, the guides were adequate, with the
local guides in
Kunming
and
Tibet
very good. The hotels, buses and drivers were also adequate. I especially enjoyed the hotels in Lijiang
and
Lhasa
, which were extremely well located
and had a local feeling, not the normal Chinese high-rise hotels. I appreciated the itinerary of the trip,
which had us gaining altitude very gradually. Due to the this slow ascent, no one on the tour had a major problem with
the high altitude in
Tibet
. ……Overall, I had a great time on
this tour and would recommend it to others. This was my second trip with
Orient Odyssey
and I would not hesitate to use you
again. I hope to visit
Myanmar
within the next few years and
Orient Odyssey
will probably be one of the tours I
